Licensed Professional Counselor, LPC

Sometimes we find ourselves overwhelmed or stuck and want help dealing with emotions or issues that we feel are beyond our control. We may be stuck in our beliefs about ourselves or others, in patterns of behavior, in our relationships, in avoidance, or just not knowing where to go next or how to make changes. We may be overwhelmed by responsibilities, decision-making, the mental load, the past, or our emotions. Whatever it may be, it always helps to have the space and support of another human in facing our challenges.

Integrating approaches from Psychodynamic Theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Relational Therapy (RT), as well as mindfulness, I aim to foster an authentic, relatable, and nonjudgmental relationship with my clients.

My primary training and clinical experience is in working with adults and college students experiencing a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, substance use, and trauma/complex trauma. I specialize in working with relationship difficulties, attachment issues, self-esteem or identity concerns, grief/loss, decision-making, executive functioning, and life transitions, including career, parenthood, and divorce/separation.

My approach is holistic and collaborative; I believe that individuals are experts in their own lives and, as your therapist, I aim to gain a deep understanding of the various contexts—past and present—that impact you so that I can best help you gain insight and access your inner strengths. Using empathy, humor, and warmth, together we will figure out the “why” and the “how.”

I earned my master’s degree in counseling for mental health and wellness and completed my initial clinical training at New York University. Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked in the consulting industry for many years and have professional experience leading groups and organizations, mentoring others, and as a crisis counselor. Additionally, I have a master’s degree in psychology from New York University and a bachelor's degree, also in psychology, from Wake Forest University. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, traveling, skiing, and spending time with my family.
