Our Approach
American Mental Health Institute uses evidence-based practice (EBP) – Functional Family Therapy (FFT) to work with families. We also incorporate a strengths-based approach and focus on positive relationships, emotional well-being, problem-solving, behavior management, and provide constructive feedback.
American Mental Health Institute provides a safe and confidential place to receive support, insight, and resources to improve your family relationships, parenting skills, and confidence.
Sessions last between 50 and 55 minutes. The frequency and duration depend mainly on your needs, treatment goals, and progress.

At American Mental Health Institute, we look at the whole family unit and provide family therapy by addressing transitions, divorce, trauma, grief, substance abuse, marital or financial problems, parent-child conflicts, and conditions such as depression, anxiety, and ADHD. Family therapy can help improve communication, deepen family connection, resolve conflict, set boundaries, control stress and anxiety, reduce dysfunction, and improve parenting skills.
