What is an ADHD Assessment?

An ADHD assessment is a structured process where various methods, including interviews, questionnaires, and standardized tests, are used to evaluate different aspects of mental health. This can include assessing cognitive abilities, emotional well-being, personality traits, and behavioral patterns.

What does the Testing Process Look Like?

The evaluation process is dependent on age and the individual’s need; however, it typically includes:

  • Intake meeting
  • Connecting with the providers (medical providers, pediatrician, schools, therapist, tutor, etc.)
  • Testing sessions (typically about 4-6 hours total)
  • Results meeting
  • A written report

Is ADHD Assessment Only For Children?

The short answer is NO!

Sometimes children with ADHD can get by throughout school without anyone recognizing their struggles. Evaluations for Young Adults can focus on the increased demands of adulting and college life where executive dysfunction can crop up.

Young adult ADHD evaluations are usually more brief, so they can be squeezed into a busy young adult’s life.

FAQ's

Do you accept insurance?

Due to the detailed nature of our comprehensive evaluation process, we do not accept health insurance directly and are considered out-of-network providers.

However, you might be eligible for reimbursement through your insurance company. If you're interested, we recommend checking your out-of-network coverage. Specifically, inquire about coverage for the following CPT codes: 90791, 96136, 96137, 96130, 96131, 96132, and 96133. Additionally, verify if preauthorization or a physician referral is necessary and if there are any forms you need to complete. Please note that reimbursement is not guaranteed and may be limited by diagnostic codes. Most insurance plans do not cover testing done for educational or academic purposes.

What is your fee policy?

We charge a flat fee for the standard evaluation process, which includes the intake interview, record review, testing, scoring, data analysis, consultations with teachers or outside providers, a feedback session, and a written report.

Services beyond the standard evaluation, such as school advocacy, attorney consultations, or extensive follow-up consultations with Dr. Moore and his staff, are billed at an hourly rate.

A deposit of 50% of the total evaluation fee is required at the time of your initial intake appointment. The remaining balance is due at the final feedback meeting. Evaluation reports will be provided only after full payment has been received.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept debit or credit cards (Mastercard, Visa, Amex, or Discover). For more information regarding fees or insurance, please get in touch with us directly.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please cancel or reschedule appointments at least 24 hours in advance. A fee of $150 will be charged to the card on file for late cancellations or no-shows, as the time is reserved exclusively for you. If you or your child is unwell on the day of the appointment, we will waive the cancellation fee and reschedule to ensure your child's best effort during each session.

Please note that a cancellation may delay services as we only conduct assessments twice a week. To make sure you get your report in the timeframe you need it in, please make sure to communicate any barriers or emergencies.

Do I need to stay in the office during my child's testing appointments?

Typically, parents with children over five (5) years of age do not have to be in the room with the child. However, there is paperwork and information that only you can fill out. We will give you these forms to complete while your child is being tested. If it is a full-day session, there will be a 1-hour lunch break that you and your child may leave the office for.

What should I bring for my testing appointments?

Just bring yourself (and your child if they are being tested) and eyeglasses, if needed. If you take any prescription or over-the-counter medications (including supplements), please bring a list of the names and doses of each.

We provide snacks and drinks during testing breaks if it is a full-day session. If your child has specific food allergies or dietary preferences, you can bring additional snacks they would enjoy.
