Mental Health Counseling Intern

As a mental health counselor, it is essential to empower clients, creating a safe, non-judgmental space for them to explore their inner thoughts, feelings, and ability to overcome obstacles they may be facing. I am committed to helping individuals recognize their inherent strengths and capabilities, guiding them toward resilience and fulfillment. A therapeutic journey is characterized by mutual trust and understanding. Through developing this trust and by working in collaboration with clients, we can set out on a journey of positivity, healing, and growth.

I have prior experience working with children ranging from early childhood to children within the juvenile justice system. I have also gained experience working with adults involved in the justice system, assisting them in transitioning and reintegrating into society. My role involves developing coping skills to manage anxiety, stress, and depression. My primary goal is to empower clients by harnessing their inner resilience and strengths, enabling them to face their challenges with confidence and support, ultimately leading to a healthier and more fulfilling life. I am dedicated to providing clients with guidance that not only assists them in overcoming immediate obstacles but also prepares them with lifelong skills for navigating life's complexities with confidence and resilience. It is my hope that after sessions, my clients will feel confident in themselves and recognize their inner strengths.

I received my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from New York University, where I am currently pursuing my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, baking, painting, crocheting, dancing, and spending time with my dog, Ophelia. I have found that these hobbies have taught me critical life lessons such as patience, resilience, adaptability, and the importance of teamwork and collaboration. It is my goal to apply these skills and lessons with clients, helping them to learn and benefit from these experiences in their lives as well.
