Julia Andreoni
Mental Health Counseling Intern
Every person is the expert of their own life, and therapy should be a space where clients feel empowered to explore their experiences, build resilience, and create meaningful change. My approach is client-centered, recognizing the strengths each individual brings while offering support and practical tools to navigate life’s challenges.
With nearly three years of experience in community mental health, I have worked extensively with adults managing chronic mental illness, crisis intervention, and complex trauma. My passion also extends to working with kids, teens, and young adults, incorporating play therapy and creative expression to help younger clients process emotions in a way that feels natural and accessible.
Specializing in anxiety, depression, and trauma, I also have a growing interest in supporting individuals struggling with eating disorders. My therapeutic approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to explore how thoughts and emotions influence behavior, alongside emotional regulation and mindfulness techniques. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is another key part of my work, helping clients develop psychological flexibility and self-compassion. Additionally, I am trained in Illness Management and Recovery (IMR) and Integrated Dual Disorder Treatment (IDDT) to support individuals managing co-occurring mental health concerns.
I am currently in the final year of my master’s program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Bradley University and am practicing under the supervision of a fully-licensed professional.
Outside of therapy, I enjoy spending time with my cat, Crunch, who is a daily reminder of the importance of rest and play. I look forward to continuing to support individuals on their journey toward healing and self-discovery.
